MSB, spécialiste américain de la Hifi audionumérique High End a présenté sur le salon High End 2024 de Munich son système Cascade DAC. Celui-ci se compose de trois éléments, chacun logé dans un boitier en aluminium usiné dans la masse. Le premier élément est "The Digital Director". Il intègre sa propre alimentation et il est prévu pour recevoir différents modules d'entrée dont un renderer. Relié par câble spécial Cascade Link, le second boitier, "The Analog Converter", est le convertisseur numérique/analogique proprement dit. Il accueille 8 nouveaux modules propriétaires MSB Hybrid DAC MKII, une horloge MSB Femto 33 MKIII et un étage analogique passif. Enfin, le troisième élément, "The Powerbase" est un bloc d'alimentation digne d'un très gros ampli de puissance, dédié au boitier de conversion.

We are pleased to announce the next generation DAC from MSB Technology. This starts a new era—one built on twin foundations of innovation and experience. We began by reimagining the fundamentals of known DAC architectures from the ground up. Critical to the success of the Cascade DAC has been dividing the conversion process into three dedicated chassis and functions. First, all of the processing, sources, and interfaces that are necessary, but electrically noisy, have been concentrated in the Cascade Digital Director. Next, all of the critical low noise analog electronics have been housed in the Cascade Analog Converter. Finally, all of the analog power supplies have been moved to the dedicated Cascade Powerbase. This ideal component division enables sublime analog playback in any system and listening environment.
